Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) is an assessment and rehabilitative tool that uses muscle testing to find compensation patterns in the body and correct movement dysfunctions that can cause pain.
For many reasons, the brain’s motor control center (MCC) can produce muscle imbalances which result in some muscles overworking and others underworking or turning off. This can lead to a multitude of problems including:
- Overuse injuries
- Skeletal misalignment
- Nerve impingement
- Chronic pain
- Muscle tightness
- And more…
Using this technique gives me, the therapist, the information needed to focus in on which muscles need to be released and which muscles to activate and/or strengthen. Doing this will retrain the MCC and rehabilitate the body’s movement to relieve pain.
Every body is different, so if you have chronic pain and tension and are not sure where your pain is coming from, then make an appointment to receive an NKT session. Don’t allow your body to keep holding you back from the things you want to do!
