The Gluten-Free Lifestyle

A no wheat sign on a black background.

Today, more and more people are becoming sensitive to this ingredient called Gluten. However, the Gluten Free “GF” lifestyle doesn’t have to be about restriction.

Years ago, you would have to make everything homemade for it to be gluten free, but now there are products and brands popping up throughout your grocery store aisles. We all have had that moment when you bite into a GF product hoping for that soft, fluffy taste and instead get that dry, crumbly taste. So how do you know what brands tastes good or what is worth the price?

Since I have come to know many people that are GF (including my husband), I decided to collect everyone’s favorite products and restaurants and post them here to share with you.

So, if you are a newbie and need some advice or have been GF for years, check out this list.

Products:
  1. Lance Gluten-Free Crackers (Ritz knock off)
  2. Simple Mills Crunchy Double Chocolate Cookies: Whole Foods or Sprouts
  3. Trader Joe’s Gluten-Free Pasta. The Brown rice, quinoa one. They have fusilli and spaghetti style. I do not recommend the corn ones.
  4. Gluten-Free Bread at Walmart or Sam’s Club. They don’t even taste gluten free, and you don’t have to keep them frozen. Plus, the price is good.
  5. Biena Roasted Chickpeas for a snack. They are awesome! They are good on salads and have multiple flavors like sea salt (favorite), honey roasted, ranch.
  6. Good Thins Rice Simply Salt Crackers. Other varieties are available. What’s great is there are only 3 ingredients, and they don’t taste like cardboard.
  7. Cauliflower Pizza Crust. There are many varieties available. It tastes very close to thin wheat crust. It is a bit pricey, but worth it!
  8. Whisps cheese crisps. They are only made with cheese – 1 ingredient. They have them at Costco and taste great.
  9. Sprouts has a gluten free bakery. They have cookies, cakes, and breads that are not frozen.
  10. GF Frozen Angel Food Cake at Whole Foods is really great.
  11. “Way better” tortilla chips. They have multiple flavors like sweet chili (favorite), nacho cheese, and sweet potato. They have some flavors at Target. Check Walmart or Vitamin Shoppe.
  12. Bob’s Red Mill GF baking flour: 1 to 1 ratio. I made great tasting crepes!
  13. Abundant Love GF mixes. Algfmixes.com. You can buy cake, biscuit, pizza, and pie crust. The website also has recipes for flavor variations. I made the chocolate Bundt cake for Thanksgiving and everyone absolutely loved it!
  14. Betty Crocker Boxed Brownies. They taste the same as regular!
  15. Gluten Free Tuxedo Cake. It’s at Target in the bakery grab-n-go section. It tastes the same as the regular version.
Restaurants in Atlanta:
  1. Vinny’s New York pizza. It’s at Glenridge Point in Sandy Springs. One of the best gluten-free pizzas I have ever had.
  2. Good Karma restaurant in Avondale. It’s a gluten-free restaurant! They serve breakfast and lunch. They also have a frozen section for grab-n-go and bake & serve goods.
  3. Mediterranea GF restaurant and bakery. It’s near Grant Park. It’s GF heaven!
  4. True Food Kitchen in Buckhead. They have great gluten-free lasagna.
  5. Cowfish and Shake Shack have the best burger buns.
  6. Seasons 52 has great gluten-free flatbread.
  7. Southbound southern-style restaurant in Chamblee. They are very glutenfree friendly. They have amazing GF chicken. They also have a coffee shop upstairs called “Moonbird Coffee.” They have gluten-free muffins.

We would love for you to share your own outstanding products or restaurants on our Instagram or Facebook page. Thanks!
